I definitely agree that there are many more layers of complexity to the topic of police brutality than this article covers: ones which I certainly plan on writing about in future.
However, I don't believe "ignoring" Black crime statistics makes the fact that they are disproportionately killed by police any less true. Objectively they are killed in a higher proportion than Whites in America, this is not really up for debate. The conversation which follows this then must explore *why* this is the case; this is where your perspective would be introduced. Sorry if I misunderstood what you were saying in this regard. Feel free to correct me if I did!
In relation to the theme of the article though, my intention was to give an alternative perspective on why many of the WWC feel disillusioned with contemporary America. This disillusionment - in part - has led them to embrace a political movement which right now is opposing BLM. Therefore, if you want BLM to succeed, part of your dialogue has to address this feeling.
Are there other factors as well? Absolutely. But this I feel is an all-too-absent factor in the discussion.
