The amount of media attention the royals get overall is massively disproportionate to the amount the general public actually care about what they do. The royal family are all but entirely a symbol now, wielding extremely little political power in a practical sense. Does the Queen technically have the ability to deny a bill passing to law? Sure, but by convention that power has been used maybe once in decades.

So whether or not Meghan is a 'true royal' matters to very few people, except some nationalists (but only when asked) and certain tabloids. Overall, it's a none-issue for people.
